A conversion guide names the settings that preserve quality, because a file converted twice loses something you cannot get back. The guides are short on purpose.
They are grouped by the format you are leaving. If you are heading somewhere specific, the target’s own library page is usually the better read.
How the guides are written
There is one page per pair of formats, and each page describes a single source file, a single output file and the container that comes out. Nothing here is written for a batch, a script or a pipeline, because the question that arrives most often is about one file that will not open.
Guides are rebuilt at the same time as the format pages they sit on, so a guide and a format page always describe the same entry in the catalogue. Where an entry is marked as unverified, the guides that use it carry the same mark, and a guide that has no format page to sit on is not published.
